New App Promises To Revolutionise Recruitment Sector
While most people and companies understand the importance of having a presence for mobile users and having an app for their services, not every firm or industry has latched on to this style of operating just yet. While there are many ways for recruitment firms to capitalise on the benefits of new media, it is also important to say that as of yet, no firm has created the “killer app” that ensures people using their mobile phones can get access to the best jobs and opportunities.
In fact, with a study showing that more than 50% of candidates who begin a job application process on their smartphone eventually abandon it, there is a lot to be done to make sure that people feel confident to use their smartphone device when looking for a new job. This is why there will be a lot of focus on the success or failure of Monster with their new Monster Job Search App which has been recently released. You may have seen the adverts for the app of late, or their YouTube equivalents, and it almost looks as though the process will be like Tinder.
If you haven’t used Tinder, it is a dating app where you swipe right or left depending on whether you would like to meet someone. If they have also indicated that they would like to meet you, a match is created and the app brings the people together to communicate. There is no way to contact each other without having both swiped. If this process is in place, you can see why it would be of benefit in the recruitment sector.
Making the process simpler and swifter is always of benefitFirms can reduce the amount of time they spend looking through applications by setting up filters. If the right criteria are in place for the applicant, such as experience, location and personality indicators, a company or job will only be seen by people who meet the criteria. Similarly, potential applicants will only see jobs that meet their criteria and which they provisionally interest the employer, so there is a lot of time to be saved. If there is a liking between both candidates, there can be further time saved by making sure that everyone is on the same page.
Technology should be used to make things easier, faster but also more effective. It remains to be seen what Monster are going to do with their new app which promises to revolutionise people’s ability to apply for jobs when using a mobile phone but there is definitely a lot to be said for using this technology in an effective manner.
If the new Monster app is well received or helps to connect people in the correct manner, the whole industry is likely to take steps to move forward with this line of thinking. You only have to look around to see that people use their smartphones at every opportunity so allowing people the chance to apply for jobs or connect with employers in an effective manner makes sense.
