Use Technology To Promote Yourself As An Employer
While the current economic situation may leave many people thinking that people are desperate for jobs, making the process simpler for firms, this isn’t really the case. There is a high level of competition for the best candidates, and companies should be keen to promote themselves in the best possible manner. When it comes to welcoming the best applicants and candidates, there are steps companies can take to make sure they are the firm people want to work for.
Automation can really help you showcase what you doThere are many ways to get the best candidates applying for positions, but you can help candidates prepare for interviews by providing them with as much information about the company and the role as possible. One example of a company providing job applicants with a greater level of insight into what they do is Byte London, who have been using a “chatbot” on the Facebook Messenger to explain how they operate.
Automation is a big factor in modern technology because it allows firms to engage and interact with their audience without being on hand. This saves money and it can ensure that the information provided to all candidates and applicants is the same. Sometimes removing individual errors or interpretations can be of significant benefit to a company when they want to get a message across, and from the feedback received by applicants, Byte London believes that this automated service is helping applicants to be better prepared for job interviews.
Since May 2016, the firm has employed 20 people and they believe that the vast majority of these successful applicants engaged with the chatbot before their first interview.
Showcase feedback and testimonialsIf someone is looking to buy a product or hire a company for a service, it is important to read reviews and read testimonials about the expected standard of service. The same approach should be taken when applying to work with a company. While the applicant may be keen to find a job, any job, in an ideal world, they should still be looking for the right company to work with.
A good employer would know this and they would understand that the better they make themselves appear to applicants, the better quality of candidates and applicants they are likely to deal with. This is the approach taken by Havas UK who have developed their presence on Glassdoor, a site that allows employees (current and ex) to anonymously review bosses and the working practices. This is the sort of insight that candidates want to know about a company, and if a company is confident that they have a good working environment and atmosphere, it makes sense to encourage people to share their opinions.
There is a great deal of focus placed on awards that indicate which companies are good to work for or which provide great employee services, so a company that excels in this area should use it as a key selling point.
Being proactive and promoting your business as an employer is a great way to attract better candidates, which will drive your business to future success.
